In the north-eastern part of Trinidad, the village of Balandra, we park at Balandra Beach and start our trek first on road, then onto a private road that eventually to dirt terrain, eventually leading us directly to the very low keyed pools of Balandra that is ideal for the family. The overall walk is along both flat and gentle inclines.
After we take advantage of the Basin, we trek back to Balandra Beach where you can enjoy swimming in the ever calm waters of the Atlantic Ocean where this beach is actually a cove, meaning that this beach is well sheltered. You can talk a short walk up a small plateau and on the other side of the beach is opened to the breeze and this part of the Atlantic is very rough and the coastline is also quite rugged. Here is the perfect place to just sit, relax and enjoy the ambience of your surroundings.
